I was looking at this location on the map viewer. It is interesting that this proposed location is almost exactly right on the border between Tusc and Guernsey County. I wonder if they are going to run the lateral south into guernsey or if it will stay in Tusc county?

county and township lines mean nothing to oil companies ........them lines was just decided on by humans in the last 200 years the formation was created over a 300 million year time period .....the oil company will go where their siesmic testing tells them the oil and gas is best ,......the permit application would tell u which way they will be drillling along with the owners of the land it will be going under

Reissue new well 3H permit applied for today by Chesapeake. The acreage will be 148.8 acres. Judging by the lateral number the well should go northwest from the pad. Seems the even numbers go southeast and odd numbers go northwest in Chesapeake wells.

Permit and plat map is posted on ODNR database for this well. Water for drilling and fracking this well is going to come from Salt Fork Creek.

went by the parker well last night. its lit up like a city allready, it looks impressive but its the first well sight that i have seen. i also heard that when they leave there they will be headed to the dutch valley permitted sight in perry twp, tusc county.

hi al  not really because it was second hand to him, but he does work for a local gas company. also these two wells are not to far apart so it does kind of make since to drill the dutch valley soon. have you been by thr parker well

Gary Kimble owns Dutch Valley Industries, which owns lands in Perry under that name - so I suspect it's the same Dutch Valley as is all around us down here.... CHK had their outsoucers send us water testing letters a couple years ago about the nearest Dutch Valley property they control...so am thinking it's the one on Sandy Ridge SE in Perry. Our over 120 acres is still unleased!?!

thanks for the update Tena. Are they building the pad or is there a drilling rig there yet? Sounds like they may be building the dutch valley pad now as well on sandy ridge?

hi tm , the rig  is allready up and theres a lot of other things around there. it looks huge to me and it was after dark when i went by there and there were huge lights all over. al raptoria was supposed to go see mrs parker last night and dont know if he found out anything from her.

The pad is down and one hole drilled, which seems to be the standard. No gas/oil exploration takes place until the rig is moved, and even then it will likely be awhile before they come back and actually frac. - unless they have reason to move a site up the priority list to explore. It is a roughly 10 acre fenced area, the men live in trailers on the compound 7 days on and 7 days off. They work 12 hour shifts, and waste no time getting the initial work done. So far they have been cordial and responsible, re-laying water lines that were disturbed, laying them deeper and safer. Many local men are on the outsourced (by CHK) job as well as out-of-the area men. Talk was of moving to Carroll County next - but maybe that's after the Dutch Valley site? Not sure. Was told they can't/don't/won't frac while a rig is on the pad so that may be a good tip off for others who see rigs at work. I don't understand the process, but that's what I was told by someone who does. Will try to drive up past Dutch Valley site on Sandy Ridge to see if gravel trucks are going in ...site is too far out of sight from the road.to see much. Am told when they are working, it's 24 hours a day 7 days a week in shifts, so you'd see SOME activity any time you see a site if there is ANY activity there at all.  Happy New Year Everyone - wishing us all a Safe one too!

Also heard that drilling is soon taking place on Riggs Hollow Road site, only 2 or 3 miles from Westchester as the crow flies  (but in  Washington Township, Harrison) and they are drilling 6 holes. Don't think that's CHK though.
