CHK is offering non-surface and surface leases in the Guernsey-Harrison-Tuscarawas county area. Anyone know anything more? They are also planning on drilling two sites, already permitted, have pads down, one on 258 (Tusc or Harrison County) and Dutch Valley property (G. Kimble) on Sandy Ridge SE (Perry Township? Tusc County). Anyone leased or approached between or near those two sites? Any new activity? Thanks

Permalink Reply by al raptoria on July 8, 2013 at 9:04pm Correction: Sometimes it pays to put your own boots on the ground and not listen to the gossip of the day. Went out to both "sites" and discovered there is NO pad on the route 258 location. And as for the Sandy Ridge site owned by Gary Kimble's Dutch Valley Industries,(a natural gas company, but the land there was under lease to Enervest now CHK for deep rights) - there are the "power line warning" flags strewn overhead in preparation for the new pipeline going through. But as for the drilling site - no activity since Kimble roughed in an access road in eager anticipation of CHK's drilling - last year! It still looks like "hurry up and wait" around this area.

Were you able to verify where exactly the 258 location is? Tusc or Harrison? Coordinates would be helpful. Any idea of the name of the well?

| AboutWhat makes this site so great? Well, I think it's the fact that, quite frankly, we all have a lot at stake in this thing they call shale. But beyond that, this site is made up of individuals who have worked hard for that little yard we call home. Or, that farm on which blood, sweat and tears have fallen. [ Read More ] | Links |
