Anyone aware of active discussions regarding lease opportunities in Wayne County?
Last heard (several months ago) from Chesapeake regarding the withdrawal of all outstanding offers.

I have heard that Hess has taken over CHK leases in the county and is willing to lease more land in the northern part at their going rate.
They took the CHK leases from Buckingham, Scott and Preston Twp.
Thanks! You know this information to be correct? I am in Buckingham and have no problems with Hess assuming my lease. Hess seems to feel it can jump through the DRBC hurdles and get past that group in Damascus trying to thwart any drilling. I would love to know why they feel that way and how soon they will actually begin. This is becoming interesting, yet dragging out in many ways. I am looking forward to success with Hess. (How about that on a tee shirt??)
Hess is using Newfield for drilling and Newfield will air drill the verticle shaft. Newfield is hiring Ecoprocess for their closed loop processing system for fracing, so water usage should be reduced significantly.

Hess should start the DRBC permitting process early next year(2010). From what I understand they have been meeting with the DRBC to find out the ground rules that will be require, I hope the DRBC is prepared for this, they like to use the cart before the horse approach(wait and see approach). I hope they make out better then CHK. The DRBC now has some experience which hopefully translates into a smoother permitting process then CHK had.

So far Hess seems to be working with the alliance to increase community awareness and involvement which I think will make a big difference. It will forester the communities to work together with Hess for a common goal, while improving the quality of life for area residents. I think Its all positive
No Action down in southern Wayne.
