AboutWhat makes this site so great? Well, I think it's the fact that, quite frankly, we all have a lot at stake in this thing they call shale. Glad to "be-friend" you! 4-County has consistently strived kept its public meetings, online communications, and phone conversations informative. Asking rightsholders to "sign" something they really need to know more about is not this Group's style. What did you find most helpful in March? You can reach me through GMS, or e-mail jlhanch@nc.rr.com.
Eric,
I have not heard of any activity in Elk Co for about 1 1/2 years as to leasing for rights. You should consider every offer and look at each term of the offer. The royalty %, disturbing your land issues (set-backs from buildings, water sources, etc), water issues (and how they are remediated if polution occurs), drilling to what level (typically Marcellus only). You should use an attorney for the lease that has been down this road.
There has been a lot of drilling with more to come in Elk. Data indicates wells are coming in strong.
Can you advise which company has made an offer?
