Luann, I'd suggest you not sign an affidavit because it will commit you to the original terms and conditions. I'm not an attorney but I would strongly suggest that you negotiate directly with Chesapeake to increase the amount being paid. This is the approach that I am currently taking. Offers in Harrison County are now $5000 per acre at 19.5% royalty. I'm asking Chesapeake to increase their payment by one half the amount in the original lease and the current offers.
