Ed, I was contacted about a month ago by Chesapeake to sign a lease on two parcels on the Esther Clark farm. I am in the process of having a lawyer review. I was told that Chesapeake was in the 3rd leg of the unit and needs the leases signed ASAP. Not sure what the "3rd leg of unit" means though. I still don't know how mineral rights are passed down to me and my siblings. I can tell you I was told there are hundreds of mineral heirs to the 72 acres and not all have been found. My father was Charles Lloyd Smith and my mother was Elva Jean Wade Smith. If you can provide any information to me, I would truly appreciate it. Would really like to know of what parent we received mineral rights through.
