CONSOL Doing A Different Kind Of Site Prep With Habitat For Humanity

CONSOL Energy is giving back to Noble County by helping the local Noble County Habitat for Humanity build its first home in the county.  CONSOL Energy donated $6,000 to the organization to help them reach their goal of $50,000 to build the home for the needy family.  In addition to the generous donation, members of the CONSOL Energy Utica development team volunteered their time to help Habitat for Humanity complete some of the renovations to the home.

The CONSOL Energy community investment grant of $6,000 helped the Noble County Habitat for Humanity meet their final fundraising goal of $50,000, which will support construction of their first home in the county. We are very pleased that our volunteer hours helped convert the monetary investment into a new home for a very deserving family- Harry Schurr, General Manager of Utica Operations

Patty Nau, board member for Habitat for Humanity, said they began raising money for the project over a year ago.  Once they reached their goal of $50,000, they were able to begin constructing the house in the fall.  The almost entire project was built by local volunteers and will be complete this month for the family to move into.  Mrs. Nau was pleased that CONSOL not only donated to the project but also steeped up to volunteer to lay flooring for the project.

Today we have CONSOL here, with several employees.  They are putting down a floor in the kitchen and the living room of the house. We are thrilled to death to have them here, to have their physical support as well as their financial support. Patty Nau, Habitat for Humanity- Noble County

A total of nine employees that support CONSOL’s operations in Noble County volunteered for the home build.
