Jessup Brough just hired radical attorney Jordan Yeager, who’s in the business of lawyering for fractivist groups funded by big-money special interests.

Jessup Borough, Lackawanna County, Pennsylvania, is home to a brand new natural gas fired power plant now being finished by the Invenergy company. Indeed, part of the plant is due to start operations next month. But, something very strange and deceptive appears to be going on. A new Borough Council, which now includes opponents of the plant, has just hired radical attorney Jordan Yeager to represent them in dealing with some after the fact matters relating to the plant’s wastewater discharges. Why is a radical anti-gas attorney costing $225 per hour necessary ...

The answer is obvious and contrasts sharply with the language being used by at least one new council member, one of several plant opponents:

“The plant went through, so we’re not against it,” Councilman Peter Larioni said, addressing Invenergy representatives at the meeting. “What we care about is the citizens of Jessup and protecting them. From here on, we don’t want to fight with you. We’d like to get together with you, talk to you and see if we can iron things out.”
