Employees of UGI Energy Services spent their Veterans Day providing and serving a catered lunch to residents, many of whom are veterans, of Opportunity House.
Opportunity House originally opened in 1984 as a place where homeless men could get a hot meal and a warm place to sleep. Over the years Opportunity House has become a multi-service facility improving the quality of life for those in need in Berks, Schuylkill and Lancaster Counties.
UGI Energy Services took the opportunity to be able to give back to those who have served our great country by providing a meal and their employees as volunteers to serve the residents of Opportunity House a catered lunch.
Here is what UGI Energy Services had to say:
November 12, 2018, Reading, PA — UGI Energy Services, LLC (UGIES), a subsidiary of UGI Corporation, held a volunteer activity today at the Opportunity House in Reading, to support homeless veterans in the area. Volunteers served a catered lunch to about 50 Opportunity House residents, many of whom are veterans.
