Sherri , After reading your post I would advise you to look into (with an attorney ) the legal term "undue influence" - it is usually applied to wills , probate , trusts , etc. - What it means is that someone has had an unfair influence over your mother because they have influenced her - capitalizing on her fears of being poor and handicapped - and even of dying and maybe not going to heaven etc. - easy for a pastor or caretaker to do because the person depends on them so much, or fears that they will shun or abandon them etc. , etc. -- Check the law on this issue - you may be able to reverse or stop this travesty. Having said all this , I must also say I have a strong faith and belief in God - but I have seen these things happen before to vulnerable people at the hands of people who are not necessarily as holy as they may even convince themselves they are - because at their core are human defects that are not so easily revealed within ourselves when it comes to our human desires ... Good luck and God bless , Kirk W. Sherry
