There’s no better place to get the latest news on natural gas then Marcellus Drilling News. Yesterday, it carried a story from RBN Energy that tells us so much about why the Catskill Mountainkeeper, Delaware Riverkeeper and other shills for the powerful east coast gentry class funding fractivism are so focused on pipeline opposition these days. They temporarily, at least, killed the Constitution Pipeline, they unsuccessfully fought a Millennium extension, they’ve opposed the Northern Access, PennEast and Mariner with everything they’ve got. But, they’re losing over time and, as they lose, the reason for their pipeline opposition becomes as clear as could be.

The RBN Energy article is titled “Dog Days Are Over? – A New Drill Down Report On Northeast Gas Takea....” It focuses on the new outlets for Appalachian shale as the Atlantic Sunrise, Nexus and Rover Pipelines have gone into service. The result has been a host of new ways to get natural gas to market as production booms. Here are the excerpts that explain everything:

Despite the production surge in the middle of fall season, when maintenance and weather-related demand typically depress prices, Appalachian supply basis (local prices relative to national benchmark Henry Hub) have only strengthened compared to earlier this year and last, and, in fact, were recently at the highest levels since 2013 for that time of year.
