My mother owns 1/8 of 115 acres in Wetzel Co. and signed a lease with Chesapeake in 2007 for $5.00/acre and 12.5% royalties. The remainder of the acreage is held by relatives. She aquired 1/16 from one of the relatives, and Chesapeake wants her to sign a ratification to lease the 1/16 at the same terms as her 2007 lease. This 1/16 interest should have separate lease at current market rates. I'm trying to find others in this situation and see if we have any recourse.
