- So far we leased a little over 4 years ago with no knowledge of the marcellus shale. Our lease was for 5 years at the very low lease price common to the area (since the M.S. was not mentioned by the land man and was not common knowledge). So we have been in this lease gnashing our teeth at our lack of info at the time we signed. We are now trying to get as much info as we can.
