Just wondering what your thoughts/information on the future of Oil/Gas drilling/exploration
might be for the above area(s)?
I read where many parts of Ohio are growing, new permits issued and good outlooks for the future. However
none of them are close to me and further down South.
I have had about five (5) offers to by my land from out of towners in the last 45 days. I am in Ashtabula
County not to far from the PA border. Do they know something I don't about what me coming later on?
I welcome any and all opinions from the Members or anyone with valid input.
Thx

I dont know what they have planned for your area. I live around Salem Ohio in Columbiana county and things are really heating up around me. As you can see from the map there isnt much in the horizontal wells in your area The slanted blue rectangles are the horizontal wells that are in Ohio so far. I have 10 acres and i leased my land for 5,250 per acre with an 18 percent royalty with no deductions. And another company just offered me 7,000 per acre on top of that if i sell my mineral rights.
What are the red dots?
The red dots are just normal old vertical wells
$7000 per acre is rather low for a full mineral rights sale, lease bonuses for the Utica have been higher than that over the last few years. Of course proven production in the area has an effect on that number. Please consult with an oil and gas attorney before you lease or sell minerals.
Im not planning to sell but this was after I already got 5250 per acre to lease. Just trying to show people what the land is worth for oil wells.
Can you share the company names of those making the offers to buy your mineral rights?
The Mineral Guy is the company that wants to buy my mineral rights.
I leased with northern oil and gas but most people close by are leasing with Bright Rock Energy and some with Del Rio. Some also with OGM and some with EOG
Thank you for the info . Just confirming this leasing activity is in Eastern Ashtabula?
No this leasing is where I live. Salem, Ohio. Southwest of youngstown
Interesting that you went with Northern Oil and Gas. During their Q2 earnings report, the CEO mentioned that they have spent $100 million dollars over the past year, good to know where some of that money was spent. He was talking about how the market doesn't recognize that buying inventory where the value appreciates is not the current trend as many companies are not replacing inventory.

AboutWhat makes this site so great? Well, I think it's the fact that, quite frankly, we all have a lot at stake in this thing they call shale. But beyond that, this site is made up of individuals who have worked hard for that little yard we call home. Or, that farm on which blood, sweat and tears have fallen. [ Read More ] |
