Has anyone heard or read any information about possible future drilling for Northeast Ohio into PA?
Long time ago there was chatter about drilling and the possible companies who might be involved. This was
for Utica Shale. I attended a few meetings and then Biden stepped in and everything stopped.
Silence for over five (5) years.
Appreciate any input or opinions you may have. Just be professional.

Just my luck I miss out.
Trumbull county has been written off for years now, as wells did not work the first time around. Have there been any rumors of Landmen sniffing around lately? There may be some cause for optimism based on what appears to be a relatively successful well drilled and in production in Mahoning County an area that had poor well performance 10 or so years back.
Thanks. The issue here is that with Oil Prices in the high 50s-60s and the economy slowing, it would be risky to drill in Trumbull in the short/medium term. The other question is who might do what is at this point exploration. I don't think a big company would jump in now and smaller companies might not have the scale to do large leasing efforts and to risk failure. It is a shame in a way that Encino sold to EOG, as they had the scale and the will to risk drilling areas that were bypassed by others (Tusky and Columbiana and now Mahoning). On the plus side, with the Permian and Bakken pretty much fully leased and the sweet spots of the Utica/Point Pleasant further south mostly leased or isolated, if companies want to increase their size, they will need to expand to new spots. I did see that companies were watching the Mahoning County well with great interest, so I might expect the next step to be increased leasing in that general area. Lets see how longs progress from there.

No replies. Their ad said that they want the sign up by 12/25/25 with movement in 2026.
If anyone has info on them please advise.

AboutWhat makes this site so great? Well, I think it's the fact that, quite frankly, we all have a lot at stake in this thing they call shale. But beyond that, this site is made up of individuals who have worked hard for that little yard we call home. Or, that farm on which blood, sweat and tears have fallen. [ Read More ] |
