In case some of you didn't read the Sullivan Review this week of March 3, 2010, the MARC I hub line is a go!

The article says that "Inergy will be sponsoring a "binding open season" to determine the final size and scope of the project in the next three weeks. Inergy expects to file a Natural Gas Act 7(c) application with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission for a certificate of public convenience and neccessity in the Spring of 2010 and anticipates the North-South Project to be placed into service by late 2011."

It also says, "The MARC I would open Sullivan County up to the extensive Marcellus Shale natural gas development that is being seen in Lycoming, Tioga, Bradford and Susquehanna counties as the producers would have access to a large interconnected pipeline system serving the major natural gas consuming northeastern United States."   For maps and information go to www.stagecoachstorage.com

jeff i don't think it is. to much pressure from what they told us. but what do i know.
i am also located in laporte twp. no seismic testing or notice.
I was told by a neighbor up in Sullivan Co. that the Marc 1 line has been tabled.  This surprised me as I had just read that the Feds refused to step in to impede its progress based upon environmental damage.  Does anyone know  whether my neighbor is correct?  Has the Marc 1 been abandoned?  Thanks!
two weeks ago they were checking for endangered bats i think it is still a go.
wishful thinking by some who wish it cancelled.
Thanks for your replies.  Endangered bats now?   So no one has read the article my neighbor referenced?  He said the article stated the gas co. could not get eminent domain and that they felt there was not enough gas in Lycoming and Sullivan to continue with the plan as it is currently proposed.  He is not a nutty guy, nor blind, wonder what he read in that paper?!!!!
work is almost completed on the upgrade to the compressor station in Wyalusing. I don't believe that would be done unless the line was a go. I wish they would re-route it right back to eastern Sullivan county along the original proposed route . I for one would welcome it!
yeah i would like it moved also since it is going to be about 5000 lineal ft through the property. no such luck.
I was talking with a county official today. He said that the environmental issues (bats and other things) which were holding up the progress has been completed. The pipeline has received the approval to move forward to the next step.
GE, are they threatening you with E.D.?
no but contact with the man has stopped.  said we would not accept offer since we have documentation that they have paid more to other land owners.  i have told him we have no interest in going to court but we do want a fair offer which we have not rec.
