It's most likely the Gulfport Wagner#1 that actually starts in Harrison & runs SE into Belmont.  Reportedly fracking now or just finished.

Finnbear, Is this the first 1200+ acre drilling unit you have seen in Ohio? Can you tell us if all of the Gulfport permits are in the 1280 acre range ? That was one of Wishgard's main provisions. It will be interesting to see what a long lateral will produce in the Utica. The Wagner well is very close to the liquids/dry line, and it will be very interesting to see what it produces. Best....

It is the largest unit I've seen for a single well bore. Its size suggests they wish to hold all the acreage they currently have leased while its odd shape suggests they might be trying to add some adjacent acreage for future drilling of more laterals from the same pad. I wonder when these landowners leased with Gulfport or if this was acreage Gulfport acquired from another producer/broker? The Wishgard lease I was offered in Belmont over a year ago was for a 640 acre unit size.

I think you are correct. The unit covers 2 properties and does not include Consol property, although we have been told Consol leased some of its holdings to Gulfport. It also does not include a larger section of adjacent ZION property. Other properties around it have been signed by several companies. We are adjacent and unsigned.

 

A new pipeline is also being installed leading toward the site.  The line is coming up from the south and a little west of the current unit. It will be interesting to see what happens. What was really amzing is that there is no gate on the road leading to the pad.

I was looking over a Gulfport lease offer last night for some southern Belmont acreage. It has NO acreage specification in the unitization/pooling clause. That would certainly allow some large unit sizes to be HBP. It also has a host of other undesirable clauses.

The lease they offered me last May was for 640 acres, but they could expand the drilling unit up to 1280, at their option. I think alot of landowners signed that lease, which had many advantages for the O&G company. The Antrim well that Gulfport is drilling in Guernsey Co. is permitted as a test well and they may only be drilling for core, or they may modify the permit and drill the lateral. Time will tell. Steve G. posted the permit, but it didn't have drilling unit acreage.
