What is the well number?
Permalink Reply by forever1948 on July 2, 2012 at 12:14am Lehman 24-12-8H
Well Number 835572
40.848702 N - -80.651108 W is on the sign
The pad is actually about here - http://goo.gl/maps/jN2b
Forever1948,
I do not undertand an API Well number of 835572.
API Well Numbers are typically of the format 34-029-2714x-0000 where ...
34 = Ohio
029 = Columbiana County
2174x = Sequential well #'s for Columbiana Cty
0000 = Vertical or 0100 = Horizontal
Who is the Driller - Chesapeake ?
Permalink Reply by forever1948 on July 2, 2012 at 2:17am That also had me puzzled Utica. What I had on my previous message was verbatim from the sign board at the front of the site. I'll look again on my way home from work and see if I missed anything. This is the picture I took of the 911 sign. Chesapeake is the driller. They started working last Monday. There is an area graded off back off the road and a temporary dirt road in. They also have soil and erosion controls (straw waddles and such) put in also.

I know just enough to be dangerous. :) We live about .5 miles from the Lehman home/property as accessed from Crestview Road - assuming the well is going in somewhere in the vicinity of Crestview/SR 7 "as the crow flies" what are the chances that someone roughly .5-1 mile SE of that well will be included in royalties from that?
We were sent water testing docs and simultaneously visited by young men working for the well testing company but I understand that's just a precaution for a certain distance out from any well?
Will this be likely to be the closest well to us (I'm assuming they don't put them much closer to each other?)
KS,
".. what are the chances that someone roughly .5-1 mile SE ..."
If you are 0.5 to 1.0 Miles SSE from here: http://goo.gl/maps/jN2b
And they drill three laterals that go SSE "South - Southeast" (typical) then
there is a 99.9% chance you will be in a Production Unit from that well site.
"... Will this be likely to be the closest well to us ..."
Approx pad spacing (given 3 laterals NNW and 3 laterals 3 SSE) could be ...
a) every 3,000' in the East-West direction
b) every 2 Miles in the North - South direction
You could have 6 pads within a two mile radius of your acreage.
A pad directly North or directly South of you could be slighly closer to your property.
1 - 6 are the pads and X is YOU ...
1 2 3
X
4 5 6
You would most likely be in a Production Unit from Pad # 1 SSE (Lehman) or Pad # 6 NNW.

Correct those numbers in the picture are the Latitude and Longitude of the location of the driveway on North Main street (SR-7).
Per forever1948, the pad is closer to this location ...

AboutWhat makes this site so great? Well, I think it's the fact that, quite frankly, we all have a lot at stake in this thing they call shale. But beyond that, this site is made up of individuals who have worked hard for that little yard we call home. Or, that farm on which blood, sweat and tears have fallen. [ Read More ] |
