Been a week since anything was posted about this county.  Are things really this quiet here?

I guess most folks got paid and that was their main interest for being here.  I am here to learn myself, and i think we are in for some very interesting times in northeast ohio.  This area needs this infusion of activity.  I know very little of the oil & gas industry other than what i have learned here on this site, but i believe if one gets informed about this new type of drilling, facts and science will out live the "fractivists" agenda and prove that while we might should always proceed with "green energy" - why should we not take advantage of what we can safely remove from our own soil?  I am in trumbull county.

I recently heard that  actual drilling may not take place in western Trumbull County, i.e. Mespo.  According to the "rumor," some seismic testing has indicated that the possibilities for deep drilling are not as good as northeastern Trumbull.  The drilling company said basically draw a diagonal line from NE Ashtabula diagonal down to SW Trumbull County everything East and South is good, everything west and North is bad in terms of shale capabilities.  People may have gotten the bonus payment to lease their land but the chances of actually getting drilled are highly unlikely.

I was wondering if anyone heard that rumor as well or if anyone has any legitimate seismic testing results for western Trumbull County areas.

Susan, Your sources !!!  From what I have aquired from the siesmic company TSG, they have been testing diagnally from Hartford township up to Rome township in Ashtabula.  I dont think they  have finished with this testing due to farmers still having crops in the fields. I know alot of these guys are ready to go back down south, to cold for them.

From what I hear from BP reps. they plan on drilling between 12 and 15 wells next year. Only four wells are going to be drilled in the northern part of the county, three east of route 11 and one to the west of st. rt. 46.

Further more I believe there will be deep wells drilled every where in the county becouse the Utica shale is consistant. Just look at the production reports that chesapeake put out on the wells down south. There is one well that is very close(2 miles) to the famous Buell well and I dont think it is about one third of the production of the Buell  well . My point is some wells will be better than others.

You know how rumours go.  You here all kinds of things!  If you looked at a map of Trumbull  County, what are the chances of any wells going in farther west, say between Route 45 and Route 534.  It seems like all the discussion are west but you don't hear much going on in areas like Windsor and Mespo where we all know that BP among others have signed land owners up, paid some bonuses.  I guess I am wondering what the liklihood of a well going in that part of the county in the next 1-2 years.

Susan, Most landowners that signed with BP(alov) have 4 1/2 years to be drilled upon, if not bp has the option to lease for another 3 years. Lets just say Bp has 100,000 acres leased under the ALOV lease(I BELIEVE THIS MAY BE CLOSE) and they have 4.5 years to drill all these wells. That would be a total of 156 wells in 4.5 years. That comes out to 35 wells a year. I would have to say alot of landowners will be getting another bonus. The pipeline that is proposed for Trumbull and Ashtabula is supposed to be ready in november of 2015, there are three proposed pipelines that are going through Trumbull and Ashtabula that will run up route 11, up the bike trail along 45 and the other is going from warren diagnally up to Chardon.

Thanks for your input there fing fong fung, several months ago you made a statement THAT bp was going to pull out of Trumbull.  Boy were you wrong again.

Anyone in trumbull with anything new?

Newest information is basically old news: BP is cherry picking their leases and dumping what they don't want. CHK sold their holdings in Trumbull to Lario and Halcon is still trying to find their ass with both hands and a map.

Thanks for the update Marcus.  I think this will be an interesting county to watch.  A different twist is the Lordstown Group of HBP landowners.

Halcon is very active in my area - mercer

Halcon needs to prove up their field so they can find a buyer and flip it.

It was only a matter of time before landowners stopped signing lease amendments for free.  Seriously, CHK has been getting those signed for nothing for the last year.  Signing that for no compensation is one of the dumber things I've seen happen in this play.
