So today I got an email that included this statement:
Looks like the consolidation phase has begun, Hilcorp has recently assigned +/- 400 leases in southern & eastern Lawrence to Shell?? Hopefully this will help get the ball rollin'..(or the gas flowing)... Visit Lawrence County, PA at: http://gomarcellusshale.com/groups/group/show?id=2274639%3AGroup%3A... --
This was sent by a member, and I am assuming I am not the only one that got it.
I tried to research this on the site and come up with nothing. Does anyone have any more information about this. I do not think that the companies have to disclose a transfer to landowners but it would be nice to know what team we are on now.

KML; For some reason I can't read all of your post so I don't know all you wrote but I will do my best.
At leas 400 parcels have been assigned to Shell. There nay be more....maybe not. I don;t know if any Shell leases have been assigned to Hilcorp or if any will.
Your lease with all its addendum will still in full force. Same royalty, same protections. Unless you were asked to sign any addendum to the original. If you have been asked to make any changes at all, I strongly suggest you talk to an attorney, either the one that help you get the original lease or the another of your choosing.
Hope this helps and good luck.
Thanks Jim!
Not sure what showed and what didn't of my post. Basically, I received an email from another group member stating what you said.
"Looks like the consolidation phase has begun, Hilcorp has recently assigned +/- 400 leases in southern & eastern Lawrence to Shell?? Hopefully this will help get the ball rollin'..(or the gas flowing)..."
I was just wondering where this info came from and as a landowner, who we can contact to see if Hilcorp did indeed "flip" us or not. I understand our lease will not change and no-one has contacted us to try to make revisions.
This info just seems like it would be a breaking news story on this site and I was surprised to not read anything on it. (I could have missed it somewhere).
The lease assignments can be viewed at the Lawrence Co recorders office website:https://portal1.recordfusion.com/countyweb/login.do?countyname=Lawr...
Just do a search using your name and it should come up as an assignment of lease if you were included in the assignment..
Hope this helps..
Hi Chris. This link you posted above seems incomplete. I did go into the recorder of deeds but only see our original Hilcorp lease. I am thinking that I am not in the right place.
For those in Lawrence Co that wants to review the assignment parcels:
1) go to the Lawrence Co Recorder of Deeds website,
2) go to "search property records",
3) input your name as recordered on your deed,
4) if your parcel was assigned you will have an item listed as:
"amendment of oil & gas leases ".
or search for document #: 2013-000213
hope this helps...

AboutWhat makes this site so great? Well, I think it's the fact that, quite frankly, we all have a lot at stake in this thing they call shale. But beyond that, this site is made up of individuals who have worked hard for that little yard we call home. Or, that farm on which blood, sweat and tears have fallen. [ Read More ] |
