Anyone hear from Buckeye Mineral? I, as well as many others signed until the end of June. I realized it was a long shot for them to come up with a lease, but I expected an effort by them to extend the contract past June. Any one hear anything?

Well the question is how many hold outs in Ashtabula county north of Rt.6 are there? If there waiting for a shooting star to sign then we will all be in trouble.I signed with Buckeye last year hoping with group convergence to give land with lots of coverage for a better sale.I am hoping that hold outs don't leave holes in possible land leases. Any thoughts?
My neighborhood is fragmented among lessees / HBP.
We're the only ones un-leased as far as we know.
It's going to take a deal or two or more to bring everyone to the same table.
This isn't by choice / a case of holding out - it's a matter of sorting things out.
Good luck to all of us - we need it.
Why hasn't Buckeye tried to solidify the landowners and get more to commit ?
We haven't heard from them since this thing started.
We've called them but they haven't called us.
Puzzling isn't it ?
Gives us pause.

The way we see it, there's Buckeye, then there's EALA.
They're two different entities.
Not casting stones just stating a fact.
I don't see why a smaller more interested local group wouldn't work out for us (speaking for ourselves only here - to each his own).
Our neighbors as far as we know are HBP / are tied into deficient tailgate leases. We even have a neighbor who we think is signed up with EGL.
And BTW how do you know the acreage is being marketed by the Township ? Have you seen a lease agreement ?
What works best for ourselves will be our call - no one else's.
Don't get me wrong - solidarity is a good thing - if attainable.
Good luck to all of us - we need it.

I to had heard they were going to market by township based on the size of Ashtabula county. weather it's true or rumor leaves to be seen.
EGL in my opinion is a good group to go with because you are not locked in and can walk at any time. They have no experation date and also take those HBP .
At this point in the game I'm not sure it matters who you sign with. I'm sure Bob has been trying, it's an awfully large payday for him if he could get a deal done. I know I would be doing more than waiting for the phone to ring. Has anyone heard of a large leasing since Black Ridge or Black River came through? I only get offers from the flippers. They don't call, they don't write, they don't visit. Even Range Resources, who held my old lease, didn't make contact when I filed my forfeiture notice. When all this started, I had my eye on a new tractor, now I think I'll go change the oil in my old one.
I believe all of the oil companies are waiting to see what south county produces before they make any moves.
Did you mean spring 2014? First I've heard of that....we got a letter from Beland that said Beusa will be in the area in the upcoming months preparing sites. Last I heard July/August.
Yes I meant to write spring 2014.
Should have written as follows (as per what I've read elsewhere on these pages):
"Wayne Township's well is on hold until spring 2014 for some reason.
Infrastructure issues ?"
Sorry 'bout that typo. But I guess it happens from time to time.

AboutWhat makes this site so great? Well, I think it's the fact that, quite frankly, we all have a lot at stake in this thing they call shale. But beyond that, this site is made up of individuals who have worked hard for that little yard we call home. Or, that farm on which blood, sweat and tears have fallen. [ Read More ] |
