APG to Convert Cudd Energy Services Fracking Rigs to LNG
January 25, 2013

American Power Group will convert 20 of Cudd’s hydraulic fracturing pumps to dual-fuel systems in one of the largest LNG fueled fracking projects yet.

American Power Group has signed a contract with Cudd Energy Services to convert 20 of their MTU Detroit Diesel 12V4000 engines on their hydraulic fracturing pumps to dual-fuel. HHP Insight reported January 22 that the order is worth US$1.5 million. While 20 engines will be converted, APG believes that 16 units will be the average configuration for a fracking operation. The units will be operating in the Marcellus Shale region as part of a project for Shell, with LNG to be supplied by Prometheus Energy.

Really?

Yea, Mike,  maybe CUDD has the secret code for the Utica oil window!

Actually Bo.. if you look at ALL of EQT permits...

it is for drilling from the Trenton layer UP   into PART of the UTICA...

Point Pleasant formations is where they are....

Barely into the Utica... I didn't realize that till I started studying their permits...

NCD3 starts 40 feet BELOW the Utica..

and goes up INTO it for 28 feet

at the end of a 5000 foot lateral....?

Maybe they will be changing that track if they are disappointed with the results?  Maybe CUDD can show-em a thing or two. They'll figure it out. too much invested not to.

My understanding is they drill deeper initially and then up towards the end of the lateral so the oil will drain into a sump area where a pump can then move the oil to the surface.

I hope CUDD brought some synthetic proppant with them to try in one of the well completions.

I was told EQT installed micro seismic fiber technology in one of the laterals to study the fracture direction and length / penetration.  Maybe this satisfies the requirement to monitor any frack job within 3 miles of a fault line?

that makes sense. to have the oil drain downwards....so pump jacks will work better down the road...

but they must think there is more oil in PP then Utica ?

Mike,

Have they started frac yet this week?

Not sure. been in garage all day and its pretty quiet over there..

BUT LOTS OF RIGS AND OFFICE BUILDINGS.. LIKE A CITY

CUDD CITY.... WHOLE PAD FULL NOW WITH STUFF...

SEEN SOME FLAT BEDS LONG ONES CARRYING CHEMICALS PROBABLY GO BY TODAY...

I WOULD GUESS THINGS WILL FIRE UP TOMORROW....

Once they get going for a few days.. ill go over and ask em how there doing...

after all...its my oil..:)...EQT took us on the RIG while doing the horizontal..

un believable....

Mike, the largest leaseholder in Valley and Spencer is Devon Energy. Just wait till they hook one of these up to your well!!!! How's those electric lines coming along to the pad?

http://www.ugcenter.com/Technology/GE-Devon-Collaborate-Unconventio...

Lectric lines all done and BIG TIME operation at Kastellic pad

Big time.... all of the Texas oilfield experts seem to be on site..

CUDD is the Eagle Ford experts.....

Operation to get underway Friday......
