Penn State Cooperative Extension will be holding a workshop, “Financial Considerations and Shale Gas Development” on Wednesday, June 27th from 6:30 to 9:00 PM at the Cumberland Township Office, 100 Municipal Rd., Carmichaels, PA 15320.
Speakers include Extension, CPA, legal and financial management experts who will discuss the strategies for financial planning. Topics will include the Marcellus market economics, financial and tax arrangements to optimize retained income, and estate and investment planning. Scenarios will be provided to panel members to provide suggestions, solutions and points to ponder.
Registration is required by registering online at http://agsci.psu.edu/shale-financial/carmichaels or by calling 877-489-1398. There will be a $10 fee per person for the event.
Participants will have a greater understanding of the financial issues and planning necessary following the drilling of a gas well. This program is intended to inform you of the needs to address as a landowner with property held within the Marcellus shale after signing a lease, and it is open to the public.
