The Town Board of the Town of Afton, New York, Chenango County, my home town, recently spent about a month discussing a resolution proposed by the Joint Landowners Coalition of New York in support of natural gas development. The board entertained the resolution at its meeting last month and decided to hold a work session on it before another meeting this past Thursday. This chain of events produced some interesting local drama, a no-show by the Great Davidski, but, in the end, Afton gave a resounding YES to natural gas development.
