Seizmic flags, a lone well is permitted up there in Ashtabula, follow its progress and then you will know what your land is worth.

Thanks Ron!

John,  It is obvious to many of us why of all the new permits taken out in Columbiana and Mahoning, the wildcat permit for Ashtabula is the odd ball to pinpoint their northern boundary for the Utica sweet spot.  As with us a year ago, when they finish drilling, if the offers go up they hit the point pleasant.

The term point pleasant is that a formation or a drillers term.

It's a formation.   And the maybe the name of  a few folks' new "cribs" in warmer climes.  LOL

Actually I think the drillers are shooting for the Utica-Point Pleasant "interval".

What is that exactly THE INTERVAL?

appear to be stratigraphically equivalent to the upper Trenton in northwestern OH and are herein called the Point Pleasant Formation

You geologists are confounding me,what's signifacant about Upper Trenton?
Thanks drill baby I'll check it out !!!

John, looks like there is a permit for a well in Richmond township. I have also heard that there is a sight being prepaired for a well in kinsman on st. rt. 193 close to the TRUMbull/ASHTABULA  county line

Maybe the most cost effective way to know what is down there.

was well finder on odnr site? thanks DBD ! On the one in richmond the spreadsheet says vertical but then the lat&lon for site end are different from the lat&lon for the well that indicates to me future possible horizontal dilling, maybe!
