Lease is up this fall. 5 k/acre. Just curious, I know things are bleak for Chesapeake, but just wondering if anyone has any recent experience with lease getting renewed or not getting renewed?

Sullivan county Pa. renewed last january
i am in mahoning co..lease is up in 1 hr..no response from chk..when i called it seemed they were pulling out of the area..23 acres..
the northeastern area is not economical to develop and it wasn't economical before the big price drop and it wont be worth drilling for a very long time .........there will be alootta leases not renewed in trumbull Mahoning and Ashtabula counties .......there is no well yet drilled in Ashtabula and trumbull and Mahoning have a bunch of duds drilled in them....... they're out of the pickle there are enough hbp acres in these counties to keep a stake in the area that they need not renew the non HBP acreage to come back years down the road and release those acres for a lot less BP and Shell got out of there and never looked back and when the big dogs run it wont be long for the pups to follow
Which state, county, township are you in?
i would say you have a good chance in that township.....especially with sizable acerage
Much luck John.
Alot of variables affecting everything gas and oil development related these days.
Politics / Surplus / etc., etc.
