I live in Iowa. A local company is using CNG in their large vehicle fleet. They are paying $.89 per gallon and getting 3.77 miles per gallon for CNG. Their cost for diesel is $3.08 and are getting 3.83 mpg for diesel. Hey, any Fed's out there listening? Probably not, so the rest of us need to put some pressure on our Congressmen and Senators to develop a national energy plan that makes sense rather than that being pushed by the ill-informed in Washington DC.

The US companies are selling because of their greed. They have an approximate per acre cost basis of $1800 and are selling those leaseholds for north of $15,000 per acre. I share your view that this is bad. Sales are not only being made to  the Chinese but also to  many of the foreign major oil companies. My ultimate answer to you on this issue is that the US government should preclude this from happening.

If I am still above ground 10 years from now, I know that I will be okay! The reason being, that I recognize what is happening and am taking the necessary measures to protect myself and my family.

Al, you make really/good points, I will keep/an eye open and do alittle more research and see where I stand. I dont know if my mind will be changed, but I will be open.

That's fair!

dude, your name says it all! with this attitude! listen to Al who seems to have watched this unfold like a chess game ,and made his moves accordingly.this is not the change Obama has touted and screwed us on, this is REAL change.

Posted below is an extract from Greg Hunter's USA Watch Dog website which was posted earlier today ( 28 March). This article clearly confirms that we should be rushing ahead to utilize CNG as fuel for our vehicles:

Monday, USA Today reported Bernanke said, "Despite the recent improvement, the job market remains far from normal," Bernanke said. "The number of people working and total hours worked are still significantly below pre-crisis peaks."

(Click here for more from USA Today.) a href="http://www.usatoday.com/money/economy/fed/story/2012-03-26/ben-bernanke-weak-job-market/53780904/1>" target="_blank">http://www.usatoday.com/money/economy/fed/story/2012-03-26/ben-bern...; If unemployment were calculated the way Bureau of Labor Statistics did it in 1994 and earlier, the true unemployment/underemployment rate would top 22% according to Shadowstats.com.

Bernanke said, last night, he’s now worried about fuel prices slowing the so-called recovery. He told ABC News, "They’re obviously a hardship for lots of people. It must be awfully frustrating to get a small raise at work and then have it all eaten by a higher cost of commuting," he said. Bernanke said higher gas prices may cause inflation to be "a little bit higher" in the next few months and take a bite out of consumer spending, leading to "a hit on growth."

Bernanke thinks gas prices may fuel inflation? Silly me, I thought it was all the money printing to prop up the banks and stock market that caused inflation. At any rate, Dr. Bernanke better hope IMF Chief Christine Lagarde’s warning, last week, of a possible 30% spike in oil prices doesn’t come true. Lagarde was lamenting the standoff with the West over Iran’s nuclear program when she said, "A sudden and brutal rise in the price of oil from Brent crude’s current levels of $125 a barrel would have serious consequences on the global economy until other oil-exporting nations were able to bridge the gap."

If gasoline prices did spike 30%, that would put the national average well above $5 for a gallon of gas. Even if war with Iran is averted, many experts think gas prices will rise anyway, right along with the summer driving season. But don’t worry, Bernanke doesn’t see "anything that’s going to stall the recovery," even though housing says it’s a hoax.

Anybody contacted their senator or congressman about this issue yet other than me?

Hope to talk to both state and Congressional reps soon.  Pa passed a $20,000,000 fund to aid companies with fleet vehicles to convert over to nat gas. Funds to be available this fall for up to half the cost of the conversions.

i live in columbus oh but own 46 ac in harrison co.  here in col. our mayor along w/ other partners have

already converted 100 of the 800 or so large city vehicles into CNG vehicles. they will continue to convert

more of the garbage trucks, street sweepers and other high consumption fleet vehicles over the nx few yrs. i think the count of CNG stations here in the city is 3. there are other company's based in columbus that have also signed contracts and are taking advantage of locking in on lower CNG prices for their fleet vehicles. if interested, a quick google search should give more info on  central ohio's step in the right direction

regarding CNG vehicles.
