CONSOL and Ohio’s Division of Wildlife Team Up for Outdoor Recreation

EID's Anne discusses the new agreement between CONSOL and Ohio's Division of Wildlife to open 1,500 acres to the public for outdoor recreation:

"CONSOL Energy Inc. has been making headlines in Ohio lately, both for their shale development and partnership withOhio’s Division of Wildlife.  Outdoor Hub’s recent article, “Partnership Between CONSOL Energy, Inc and Ohio’s Division of Wild..., explains the benefit the land will have for outdoor enthusiasts.

“CONSOL Energy is extremely pleased to enroll an additional 1,500 acres into the Ohio Department of Natural Resources CO-OP Program,” said Tim Schivley, Manager of Rental Properties, CONSOL Land. “This will provide areas for public recreation while keeping with CONSOL Energy’s corporate policy to manage its properties to enhance public use and increase wildlife habitat.”–“Partnership Between CONSOL Energy Inc. and Ohio’s Division of Wild... (9/29/12)

Companies like CONSOL are doing their part for the community while expanding their operations in the Utica Shale.  Hoping for good production in their wells, they plan to be a presence in the state for a while.  They aren’t the only company with a vested interest in the community.  Halliburton recently helped out Tri-Valley Local Schools outside of Zanesville by donating up to $800,000 for their new athletic facility and bleachers.  Chesapeake Energy brought theirOperation Blue community service efforts to communities all over eastern Ohio.  Clearly, these companies are making a difference through not only job creation and energy savings, but also through community outreach."
