Permalink Reply by James T Monyak on December 10, 2012 at 4:58pm With that many acres you don't need any help with obtaining a lease. The E&P companies will contact you when they are ready to drill. Just make sure you get a fair deal. Push too hard and you will not get anything. Don't ask and you will not get anything. Leasing is like buying a car except you don't know anything about the car you are buying and the dealer knows everything. Good luck!

Your statement about pushing too hard, and you won't get anything is very true. I saw it happen to a neighbor. Totally out in the cold now and his neighbors that surround him have a good lease. Pigs get fed, hogs get slaughtered.

It's just like anything else you are buying or selling, you have to know what you have compared to what is on the market. Knowledge is important and this why I am on the internet learning as much as I can.
