Hi everyone! I have 200 acres in Marshall County, WV and I have multiple ROWs and a new one coming soon. Williams Corp has placed the cut trees in different areas of the property. How do I sell these trees? They are pretty large between 4-6 feet around and about 30' long. I see that people buy live trees but I don't see where I can sell previously cut trees. Another ROW is going to be put in soon and some of these trees are lying in the new ROW location.  Thanks for the help!

How long has it been since these trees were cut?

They were cut last summer.

Bit of info, I know in the past they would not buy them if the bark has started to separate from the log.

Any idea who I would contact?

I guess I'm not going to find any info very easily. I don't know what to do with these trees.

Some things to take into consideration would be accessibility to where the trees are laying, the species of tree, and how many trees are available to be removed.  Also, how much time do you have to get them out before they start putting in the pipeline?  How close are you to a state route?

I have had timber cut on my place several times in the past. If you send me a PM with a phone number I can call you and provide you with more specific information.

Contact local sawmills in the area.  The logs should be fine save for some end checking.  They will not bring top dollar, but still have value.

Did you try contacting the WV division of forestry? They may have a list of mills, foresters and buyers.

Thank you so much! When I first started to look into this the forestry division was only interested in live trees. I will continue to research this. Thanks for the info!
