Does one now have to donate money to be able to comment on certain topics or groups?

I rarely post to this forum. However I found a topic on the Beaver County group discussion which I believed I could give some input to. To my surprise, I was asked for a donation - & the text went on to read that if I could not give a donation at this time to simply click on 0.00.

I did so (click on 0.00) & discovered that I could not proceed any further, as in I could not make a post.

So my question is this  - does one now have to "pay to participate" on certain lists or topics of this forum & if so, why?

This is not the first time I have been solicited for "donations" from this forum.

As far as the info I was trying to post - it is this: Beware of DAS - my experience with them has proven them to be very sneaky & underhanded.

Thanks ,you have just ask my question .I have expierenced the same thing. maby  the site adminastrator could shed some light on this. thanks for your post. waiting on a reply.

A donation is asked for but not required. Some county groups have a short waiting period, (less than a day) for admission into the group. I don't know why some groups have this waiting period and some don't.

Sounds like the makings of a poll tax to me.

Interesting.  I typed in my previous comment just a minute ago.  First the site mechanics refused to acknowledge and print it, then a moment later, it was posted.  I know my spelling is horrid, but that has never happened before.
