This week a Senator revealed a new EPA set of regulations which include the study of "fracking" in the Utica, Marcellus, and other shale formations around the country. Coal is not the only mineral under attack by this administration. They are to go into effect right after the election, according to the Senator's report.  For those of you that want to keep your chances of receiving royalties the reason to vote against Obama is more important then ever. Please vote!!! This play will be shut down.

Can you be more specific?

What Senator?

What is the regulation?

Not that I dont believe you but I want to check the facts for myself.  There's a lot of false information being put out there right now and I want to check this out for myself.

Firts off, I'm a realist.  Not a republican OR democrate and this amendment doesnt seem unreasonable.

Fracturing Responsibility and Awareness of Chemicals Act or the FRAC Act - Amends the Safe Drinking Water Act to repeal the exemption from restrictions on underground injection of fluids or propping agents granted to hydraulic fracturing operations relating to oil and gas production activities under such Act. Requires:
(1) state underground injection programs to direct a person conducting hydraulic fracturing operations to disclose to the state (or the Administrator if the Administrator has primary enforcement responsibility in such state) the chemicals intended for use in underground injections before the commencement of such operations and the chemicals actually used after the end of such operations; and
(2) a state or the Administrator to make such disclosure available to the public.
Requires the applicable person using hydraulic fracturing, when a medical emergency exists and the proprietary chemical formula of a chemical used in such hydraulic fracturing is necessary for medical treatment, to disclose such formula or the specific chemical identity of a trade secret chemical to the state, the Administrator, or the treating physician or nurse upon request, regardless of the existence of a written statement of need or a confidentiality agreement.
Authorizes such person to require the execution of such statement and agreement as soon as practicable.

Go ahead Missy, Do what you are apparently are going to do and then you can suffer 4 years of buyers' remorse. Unfortunately the rest of us will have to suffer also. I just read the Rolling Stone article which is admitedly left wing. Obama is interviewed and the article stresses his commitment to "green energy". You need to know that his energy piechart on the web did not include coal. Coal was added to the piechart the day after an incarcerated felon got 40% of the vote in the West Virginia democratic NY where Coumo, Obama's political friend and ally holds sway. Nor do I wanted more of my markedly increased taxes going to Solyndra and other "green companies" who support Obama. For those of us who believe in the Second Amendment and a law abiding citizen's right to protect himself or herself, you can probably kiss that right goodbye after Obama is re-elected, which I must concede I think is likely.  Very Sad! And to think that Ohioans can be foolish enough to cut their own economic throats by re-electing Obama and finding out that the prospects of natural gas development and a real economic boom have been sacrificed to Obama's God of "No Fossil Fuels and Green Energy for All."

My post was garbled. ......correction...... West Virginia democratic presidential primary. Nor do I want a federally imposed moratorium on fracking like the state imposed ban in New York, where Cuomo, Obama's leftwing political friend holds sway.

Ohio's unemployment is below the national average. Gas and oil will boom in the state. The President is not going to stop that. I only hope that regulations are in place to protect people who only see dollar signs until the money is spent and then they will want to sue the oil and gas companies for destroying their land and water supply.

I can't believe the number of people on here who would vote for Romney. I would sincerely ask someone to explain to me why? No one seems to be able to answer that question without interjectiing rumors and falsehoods. Is there an intelligent person out there who can really explain to me the reason they would vote for Romney?

As a Nam Vet why would I vote for a liar that promised transparency and delivered non. Why would I vote for Obama that said lobbyist were not welcome when he flooded his Health and Humane  services with clones of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation aka Johnson and Johnson Big Pharma to throw out billions   to sell Obama care? Why would I vote for Obama that blows millions on green energy  at the taxpayers expense and loss? Why would I vote for Obama that watched live video feed of Americana dying and do nothing but lie afterwards?

Why would I vote for Obama  when I see gas at $3.60 a gallon and milk at $4 a gallon.   Theres more but I think you can get the drift Obama needs fired!

Ditto, well said but please remember to go out and vote!

Can you give me any  good reasons  for voting for Obama without putting blame upon everyone else?  Obama phones is not a good reason!

Missy,

It is important to note the bill exempts public discloser of propriatory chemical mixes which is important intelectual property of the companies as it should.  I think the problem is it is Federal.  I think every State should at a minimum adopt what is in the proposed bill but it is far reaching for the Feds to take control over all States, especialy States that are doing a fine job regulating the industry now.  They will be the ultimate losers if such a Federal bill were to pass.  At best the experts say this bill has a best shot of passing of 10% with a +/- of 7% so it doesn't look as we need to worry about it.

Missy I trust not the MEDICAL: INDUSTRY.  Johnson and Johnson the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation  same same. The only thing this allows is for anti fracker to target a specific area to carry on their  make us rich lobbyist activist activities in a never ending  for profit business the same as the Anti Tobacco Group has became.

Are you talking about Josh Fox's new bud Senator Ball (R) from NY?  As Missy asked, who, specifics, links?

Fang,

Thanks for the #'s on the proposed bills.  Only read S 587 so far.  Are you opposed to the bill itself, or that it's at the Federal level or that it could be the begining of a rash of new regulation?  Granted this has little to no chance of passing.  On the State level this could be inclusive many places now or in the future, just guessing.
