I was wondering if anyone out there knew if EQT ever offered a lease without royalty deductions. Or, more importantly, if not, are they taking out these deductions from the royalties. If you don't want to post this information here, would someone be willing to email me privately about this.

I just started talking with an EQT landman about it. He sounded like he could do it, needed to prepare a lease with this wording and get it to me. I'll let you know. Ritchie county.

Ritchie county ?  Wva ?

I grew up on Indian Creek... up from Beatrice...

Lots of oil up in them hills...

did you know any of the Parks ? on Indian creek..

Mike

Hi Mike,

I never lived in West Virginia, but my Dad grew up in Marietta and his parents (and grandparents and some further back than that) lived in Ritchie: Harrisville, Cairo (McGinnis), far back in Mole Hill (Marsh).

We have inherited some O&G interests around the county, including on SFHR near Beatrice!

and a little further up on Indian Creek.

No relation to any Parks that I have heard of.

We visited grandparents in Harrisville until they moved (old age). Have been back a few times to the court house. Lots of great memories.

Our EQT in Ritchie is in Clay district.

What name is property up Indian creek.. on the Beatrice side...?

I knew everyone on Indian creek in the 50's on Beatrice side

I know lots of Indian history... up Indian creek...

Most everyone in that area has Shawnee background .. including me..

I know of a lot of Indian sites....caves ...campgrounds...battle sites .. etc...

My Gparents were Aldine and Elsie Scott.. had 47 acres up Indian creek...

People named BROWN.. has most of that land now... I think....

Im not sure what SFHR means  ?

SFHR is the abbreviation that the Ritchie assessor's office uses for South Fork of the Hughes River.

The acreage near Beatrice was owned by Harry and Carrie Maze for some years, probably when you were around there.

Let me Friend you and talk a little more that way. This is Fun!

Ok,  Friends we iz...

Growing up on Indian creek at my Gfather scotts place was fun..

I didn't know any more people other then ones above Beatrice

Back in the 50's it was wild... NO ELECTRICITY till 1958

Im 69 now...feel 25....act maybe 15   :)

Lafe Lemons lived up at the end of Indian creek rd..

Ernest Haughts outfit was in Beatrice...

Aldine Scott my gpa was some kinda relative to Haughts...

they didn't get along much...

Moyers and Morris's live on the creek along with Pauline Geho...

Nancy Geho was sure cute :)

Mary only one alive yet I think

The Indians hid a lot of their belongings up in the hollors along Indian creek.

when they were run out of Wva ohio etc on the Trail of tears deal..

My Gma's Gma was full blood Shawnee and given up to a white family named Lower.. cause the Indians knew the little ones would die on the WALK to Oklahoma

That's why Many Hillbillies have Indian blood... Indians gave up the little ones to white families in the mid 1830's

Keep in touch...

Mike

Did you have any luck getting an EQT lease that was free of deducts?  Thanks

Archibald I just finally got the lease the way I want it (back and forth with our attorney) then sent it to landman last week. Our Atty says he has had no luck with no deduction leases with EQT. We'll see.

FYI...the guy who was in charge of leasing (at least for WV. Don't know whether he was responsible for other states or not) who occasionally gave a gross lease (we got one about a year ago) was replaced by someone who refuses to allow gross leases. This was the status a few months ago. Don't know what is happening now.

Thanks for that Jim. I'll let you know what our landman says.

EQT has signed leases with a limit on deductions

Any idea how that would be stated?
