The link you posted utica shale is not working for me.    Please bare with me and tell me if I am understanding things right.    

The "unit" that my lease will be in will not be determined until the well is producing?  Is this right?

If this is right why did a land man tell us months ago before we signed a lease that we had already been put in a "unit?"    was this just one more land man lie or is there any way to find out if we are in a unit or not.   There is a well being set up to drill about 3/4 of a mile from us right now. 

Thanks for being patient.   I have done searches on this subject and failed to find any info.

The new link works except it keeps timing out before loading.   I will keep trying.

Another question about production units.   Are you saying the driller can change the production unit willy nilly.   One month it's this area then next month it's that  area? Is that what I am hearing?    If that is true there is no way to keep track of where a person is within or without a unit.   I guess just like everyone else I just want to know where we stand.  

BTW:   I never believed anything the land man said.   I just thought it was interesting that he actually said that in writing.   :).
