What is the going rate for a temporary waterline going across a property. I was offered $2 per linear foot. Anyone getting any more than that?

Trust Alan's response. Sherre's replies were also timely. Landowners may not feel like they're in the pilot's seat, but they can certainly be co-pilots! $30,000 is a nice paycheck admittedly. However when things go wrong (as life experiences by many will attest) it's reassuring when protective clauses can be pointed out and the situation corrected.
Hopefully folks are taking notes on this discussion and keeping them. Pipeline folks may knock @ your door some day.

I've dealt with (and am dealing with) BOTH Pipelines AND water lines.
There is a clear difference in these dealings. Water lines are a relative simple business transaction. Pipeline are, well, just look at the myriad posts on these sites for the last several years.
O/G pipeline Landpeople and their management can be (and usually are) real a******s.
Even the attorneys (Oil and gas, of course) I deal with on this issue HATE dealing with these people.
Folks, there is a WEALTH of great ideas found on this and other sites.

Woolpert in Carroll County Ohio was the worst. Their landman that came out was terrible. He used to work for chesapeake and is now raking the landowner over for temporary water lease. Make sure the lease is for a one time lay down and if they do not pump any water within xx number of days the lease is void. This will not let them set the temporary line down and leave it there for months not being used.
