Can anyone let us know what we are in for? Tuscarawas County officials met with Green County and came back with a article in our local paper that appears all is well, except the truck traffic, etc. What I am asking is what is it really like? Are the royalities good, how many has had water problems? Please help us understand what we are in for. Thanks in advance.

The next time tremors emmanate from one of your Injection Wells , please keep them within the confines of your fair State of Ohio..........;-)

Why...vause Tusc. Officials want to waste tax dollars on a road trip.

Carroll county is ~25 miles away  and mor indicative of what we should expect....more so than Green PA.

Thanks for the info. The article was in the Times Reporter. The article said because they have been drilling in Green County, Pa. I think they said for four years, they just wanted to see what to expect from this boom. Traffic, crime, housing etc.

TTM&R,

Of the 179 well permits in Ohio there are 4 only well permits in Tuscarawas county. There are 18 counties with well permits and 10 counties have more permits than Tusc.  There are only 21 rigs in Ohio.  Until that count doubles or triples ( this summer ? ) then not much will happen in Tuscarawas County for at least one year or more. And even then, you will need to be in the right place at the right time to even notice a rig is drilling.  Carroll County has 70 permits already and after the Rig is gone from the site, it is difficult to locate some of these sites.

I'm definitely interested to hear a true royalty $, and assurance of safe water. I wonder if the articles's even an accurate comparison between our portion of the play and Green PA.  I also think ppl have questions like: did your property (even in-town home) values rise? What is our land/mineral rights worth now?  Does your community feel crowded with outsiders? Did lots of workers move in to your communities? What kids of new development came in, ie big box retailers, hotels, restaurants, etc. How have tax revenues helped your schools, etc? I read that article and was frankly disappointed in the lack of a big picture glimpse for us to see into the future. The report is also a series, so I guess there's more to come...

JR,

... true royalty $ ..."

First, you need to state: Millions of cubic feet of Gas per day, % of that which is Wet Gas and Barrels of Oil per day and number of Acres for that specific Horizioatal.

".. assurance of safe water ..."

There are no guarantees in life, only acceptable risks.
