Does any one know what the rules are in regard to how far away from a pipeline you must stay

in order to build a structure?  The reason I ask is they say they want to buy a right of way that

will be 50 foot wide. But if what I hear is true, they say that you have to stay 300 feet from any

pipeline if you want to build a structure. So infact they will be tieing up a 650 foot wide area

that I won't be able to do anything with.

So if that is correct, should'nt they have to pay extra for that?

Better check out the distance with your lease/contract, lawyer, or the company who owns the gas pipeline right-of-way. Someone a few years ago built a barn within the right-of-way and was lucky enough not to have to tear the barn down, but pay a fine instead. Better safe than sorry.
We were just approached for a gathering line across our property in Cherry Twp near Mildred.  Anyone else?  What's the going rate?

You will hear everything from $8 per ft to $20 per ft about "the going rate".  I think a mean average is $15 per ft  - which works out to about $6,500 per disturbed acre.

I have my pipeline agreement in front of me.  It's for $30 per foot. I can build up to within 50 ft of the pipeline.  My concern was developing the property with a pipeline through the center of it.  I am told by the pipeline right of way representative I can build a road OVER the pipeline as long a there is a representative from the company there when the work is performed.
