For everyone's information, Ascent Resources is offering $ 7,500 per net acre and 20% gross leases in Monroe County. If any operator proposes leases in any counties of Ohio where Utica is strong, ensure you obtain those terms.

Gulfport drilled 4 pretty successful gas wells in Summit Township, and antero has a few wells in the general area in the past, so maybe there is some confidence that the rock is fine.  This is one of the remaining areas where it appears someone can build a large contiguous position.  I'm surprised more companies aren't trying the same in Mahoning County and Columbiana counties.

Gulfport is also leasing in Wayne and Washington township Monroe County.

Makes sense, they have some older wells in those townships.  In there recent earnings call they mentioned they are trying to add to their inventory, the relative lack of which is an overhang on their future (compared to EQT, Antero, Range).

Ascent offered 10,000 per acre and 20% gross in Noble County Wayne

township

Interesting, looking at the ODNR map, that township is dominated by Antero(now INR).  I would guess some competition for that area, and I wonder if this was an expired lease by Antero.  There were some very good wet gas (?) wells drilled a while back.  The Antero management is a pretty confident bunch, but they may have erred by not locking down this area.
