Gas vs. Oil Pad Construction

Is there a difference in pad construction between a pad used to drill for oil vs a pad for gas?  The pad constructed does not have a water impoundment pond.  Also in the drill permit it says the rig will be an RTAF.  I'm guessing the RT stands for Rotary Table.  I'm wondering what the AF stands for.  Thanks

RT refers to rotary tools, AF probably refers to drill fluid type: Air and/or Fluid.   They may have listed both not knowing which rig type would be available for job:  RTA, RTF, RTAF.  The type used will determine the surface equipment needed: air uses compressors to circulate, fluid (mud) uses tanks&mixers to prep and pumps to circulate.  Foam drilling is mainly air with small amounts of soap added to foam any produced water while drilling   It all depend on the drilling conditions in area.  Horizontal section most often drilled with fluid (mud) as air motors are less reliable and failure prone.   As far as ponds, most wells have a reserve pit which hold drill cuttings and any water/oil that come to surface during drill as well as returns from casing cement jobs.  Large ponds for fracturing jobs generally located off site on another excavation or hilltop.

wells will soon be closed and ponds will not be used at all.  Then even water it's self will be taken from the "mix"
