If you are interested in attending the dinner, friend me on this site, and I will send you additional information and the reservation form.
Hope you will join us!

It's JMS here...I am so glad folks enjoyed the afternoon/evening!
It felt like a family reunion to me! We even had 2 from Ohio join us...so nice to put faces to the conversations we've had. What a terrific group of "neighbors" to have!
For you folks in Ohio, if you choose a place to have a dinner, I can help organize it, if you'd like. Talk to Jim, George, Klix, and Bluflame and they can tell you if there is anything you might want to do differently...or not.
Just let me know...How about late September, early/mid October...before the snow flies??

Permalink Reply by JMS on April 16, 2012 at 4:32pm Well, hopefully this will become a regular event...a GMS reunion...and each time we'll add a few more folks to our group.
Ron, you're from Ohio, right? Are you near Youngstown?
JMS
Good job JMS, yes on the Youngstown question, closer to PA on 224. Have you seen the pictures above I posted of Yellow Creek Theatre?
Permalink Reply by JMS on April 16, 2012 at 5:12pm Yes, looks like a great venue...everyone loves tailgating...and forget the fracking film...let's just make it a drive-in movie and rent a good one from RedBox.
BUT....ummmmm....hmmmm....in charge? I don't know and love Youngstown the same way I do Foxburg. And no way are you going to be able to wimp out on this one! :)
You have to do the heavy lifting! I'm planning on sitting on my lounge chair with glass of wine!
I'm following you Buddy, you can't argue with success. However, my wife and I have volunteered and run YCT for eight years now so I know how much work YOU put into Foxburg to make it a winner. I'm willing to offer YCT to this great group, if you lead :') , don't worry, I'm a worker so I will have your back. BTW, plenty of nice hotels down the street, a historic B&B, Poland Village is a historic town, library banquet room and restaurant right next to YCT. The land of YCT is private and I know the owner (wife) so we can drink and be merry, plus any frativist who comes near the place gets it!

Can the library be used in case of inclement weather? Then again, of course, we know it never rains in Poland!

Permalink Reply by Billy Park Whyde on April 16, 2012 at 4:43pm Well some of us po people couldn't make it but to those that did it sounds like ya all had a great time. Glad to hear good news and they ever get enough rigs into Ohio I might just do the moving on up thing! lol
Permalink Reply by JMS on April 16, 2012 at 5:04pm Oh come on Billy...do what the rest of us do...cash in your 401K and go out and have some fun!
Or take out a home equity loan...none of us can afford to do half of what we do...
That is, unless the royalties are flooding in. :)
I think we had one lady at the dinner who has started getting her royalty checks...about $17,000 so far for 2 months. Not bad! Next time maybe she'll buy dinner for all of us! Maybe some day we'll each own a restaurant! There were some really good stories shared.
Oh, I am so ready to retire...
How long till they start drilling in my area? I just signed on Saturday...
BTW Billy...you were supposed to provide the entertainment for us on Saturday, remember??
Where were you???

AboutWhat makes this site so great? Well, I think it's the fact that, quite frankly, we all have a lot at stake in this thing they call shale. But beyond that, this site is made up of individuals who have worked hard for that little yard we call home. Or, that farm on which blood, sweat and tears have fallen. [ Read More ] |
