Hi everyone, my name is Tim Sokoloff and some of my friends and associates have inspired me to post here in regards to some of our Valley's local history that is related very closely to the economic revolution occurring in our community. I represent Iron Soup, a Non Profit entity charged with the restoration and preservation of the Youngstown Sheet and Tube Company Homes, a historical site of monumental importance to our valley.
This morning we made the news for making history here in our area and we are front page of vindy.com and the print paper as well.
How our site relates to your industry? The site we are preserving was working housing for the steel mills, which at that time was the fastest growing industry in the US.
There are many people that feel there is a great ... kinship between the early days of our industrial revolution, and what is happening in our area today. Industry means, jobs, revenue, commerce and progress, something our valley desperately needs, and although I am adamantly opposed to tapping the planet for it's natural resources I understand that until something better comes along, that is viable, buildable and affordable on a large scale, we have no choice.
Our article in today's Vindicator marks a milestone towards that goal. It is only on small step but it is heading in a giant direction. If you have not seen today's Vindicator you should stop and check it out, or go online to vindy.com and check us out. We hope to hear from our friends and associates in the oil and gas industries as we are eager to help promote economic growth, and hopefully take some steps in a positive direction towards better, smarter power for America
Best Regards
Tim Sokoloff

AboutWhat makes this site so great? Well, I think it's the fact that, quite frankly, we all have a lot at stake in this thing they call shale. But beyond that, this site is made up of individuals who have worked hard for that little yard we call home. Or, that farm on which blood, sweat and tears have fallen. [ Read More ] |
