Has anyone received a royalty (NOT bonus) payment from Antero?

Hello, all! I'm in an Antero unit that went to sales on July 21. According to my contract, I'm supposed to begin getting royalties six months from the first day of the month after that, which would be February 1, 2015. I have heard that they are consistently late in paying royalties, and that they're behind on issuing division orders. Has anyone out there received a royalty (NOT signing bonus) payment from Antero? Anyone received a Division Order yet? Just curious if this is a good company to be dealing with. They seem to be a great producer. Thanks for anything anyone is willing to share. By the way, I'm in the Vorhies unit. The initial production numbers are up on their company presentation and they look pretty good!

Ditto.  Thanks for the link Nancy.   Great stuff.

You're welcome. Pass it on. Many of us will need it sooner or later!

Very helpful, Nancy. Thank you!

Just signed and mailed in DO from CHK, was 1 page...

The person I talked to was the person who sent me the Declaration of Unitization.  There was nothing for me to sign; the cover letter indicated that it was informational only.  Her title is "Land Technician", and her name is Sarah Hummel, 303-357-6837.  There is another one named Emily in the same role and she can be reached at the same number.

I think first I'll review my lease to refresh my memory and then call a neighbor who has more acreage than I in Unit A and see what all he has gotten so far.

Today I received the Declaration of Unitization for the first Unit, as they promised, so as of now Antero has kept their word and I have no complaints with them.

I'm expecting the following paperwork now.  Not sure if there is any other paperwork besides these and actual royalty payments:

Division Order for the first unit, which should be coming in about 3-7 weeks.

Division Order for the second unit probably sometime mid 2015

Declaration of Unitization for the third unit probably sometime mid to late 2015

Division Order for the third unit probably late 2015.

I recently got a call asking me to confirm my mailing address.  I was told that within 4-8 weeks I would be receiving a Division Order.

Maybe there is hope after all....

Interestiung, Carl. When did your well go into sales?

Early May.....so it looks like a D.O. will be had about 6-7 months after production started.

One thing I am wondering about is the part of my lease that is headed:  "When Royalties Must Be Paid" and that goes on to mention 120 days, 90 days, and that royalties not paid on time accruing interest at 5% above prime per annum

Determining whether they pay correctly according to the terms of the lease could prove to be VERY complicated.   :-(

I think that's just how they want it, Carl!

How do you find out when your well have gone to sales?  This may seem like a dumb question, but i sure would appreciate some info on this.  It seems like I am finding out just how much I don't know!!

Not dumb at all, Susan. You have to drag out information from the companies. If you are with antero, go to their website at www.anteroresources.com and go to the contact page. You'll find a landowner relations email contact there. If you are with a different company, you can probably find a similar link on their site.
