I need a reasonable Gas lawyer in Bradford county

My lease with a gas company, I believe has expired. I need an attorney to  contact the company and get a status and to cancel and return it to me for other leasees.

What makes you believe it has expired?

Originally, there were two well sites planned in the area. One North and the other South. Now, we know that Chesapeake is only planning to drill South. There are no permits for North. No drilling presently and no information from Chesapeake.Any suggestions?

They may just hold you with one well and make one unit.

I understand that, but when I question the Chesapeake person, he knows nothing, typical. I just need some honest answers. Thanks for your infomation.

Call chris jones @griffen ,dausey, depaola and jones in towanda  pa .if he can take on the case he testafied in front of house committe for what hopes to be hb1648 as a member I only recomend him as  a requst by you .

You don't really need an attorney yet. What evidence do you have that it is expired? Be specific! If you are sure then send certified letter telling company to mark lease as released. Did you go to recorders office to see if it was released? You will probably not get a copy except by going to recorders office and making a copy. ALL leases need to state that when the terms of lease say five years end company will A file release at recorders office and B send landowner a copy. Most oil companies do not either of these things in a timely manner if at all. We had a lease from 70s that company just plain did not release even though lease expired. We gave them hell and they rolled over.

the PA SENATE has just recently passed and sent a bill to the house of reps that would make it the law of the state that when a lease is expired the gas company MUST SEND paperwork with the specifics included.this will be a big help for people that are in your situation.
