Does anyone have an update on the Marchand Unit in North Mahoning Township.  One unit is producing and four additional permits are on the books.

Farmgas, my understanding is that ISIP (PSI) is an acronym for 'Initial Shut-in Pressure', measured in Pounds per square inch. I think this is a measurement gathered with the completion of each frac stage.

The thing I can't determine is how this measurement might predict the well's productivity and profitability.

That, fellow Shalers, is the burning question!

The Completion Report for this well shows a ISIP (PSI) range of 9,502 PSI for stage 1 to 9,402 PSI for stage 34.  The 24 hour shut-in pressure was 7,105 PSI.  Is there a pressure drop from the horizontal lateral to the well head location?   Is that where this pressure is measured for the 24 hr. test?

I interpreted this as the hydraulic pressure they applied in the frac stages. The 24 hour flowback test showed an IP of 7100 psi.

JVA/JOAs can be structured any number of ways. The best way to get an idea of the terms is to see if there's anything recorded between the parties that references an agreement.

I heard today this well is feeding 5 million per day through the plastic line that's in place, also the new line is on hold. ???

That'd be about one- quarter what they've gotten from other throttled (choked) back Dry Utica wells. Is it deliberate or is it really disappointing?

That used to be the capacity of that line. The Marcellus well must be shut in.

SK - could the 11MMcf for 24 hr. IP test be a throttled back number only?  With most Utica wells having an IP number greater then 50MMcf/day how likely is it that this well is so far off?

After the Marcellus well was drilled a new 8" diameter (I think it was 8") steel pipeline was installed to take the gas to a DTI nearby pipeline.  I don`t believe a plastic line could handle the high pressure of a Marcellus or Utica well.   Could 5-10 MMcf/day (both the MS & Utica wells combined) be handled by an 8" pipeline?

Farmgas, I simply don't have the answers. I do wonder if it doesn't have something to do with other local/regional producers shutting wells in, the rush to sell off producing wells, and some longer term goal of driving down the price of HBD acreage to where it's nearly worthless until of unless there is greater takeaway capacity. Would they nownseesa need for much larger Utica unit blocks to settle the question of fracking trespass? It's complex and dynamic.. To reactively try to get inside the heads of O&G company long-range planning is frustrating. Somebody once quipped the O&G biz,  better not count your chickens until the eggs are hatched and the check clears

SK -  I get it!   When CNX wants us to know something more then we will know it.   Enough speculating!!

Don't be surprised if this is a bad well. Its not considered to be in the core of the Utica. Anything above 15Mmcf/d would probably be considered a welcomed surprise.
