I thought this might be interesting as it puts into light a question of balance in environmental thought, practicability, and  necessity .  Oil and gas are necessary in the real world as so called green energy is not and does not look like it will solve the problem.

  We can think of many uses, thousands if we care to look for what we use from hydrocarbon products. In some cases life or death.
