Ohio, don't know of any well that was on it, it was leased 1928. I own the land but see no evidence of a well, but them own my gas and oil.

The property has never been drilled, they signed on in 1928. Are some leases forever, I am in Ohio.

Do you have a copy of the lease? Do you have a copy of your deed?

As I understand the laws of West Virginia (don't know about Ohio) if the terms of the lease are not being met (no drilling, no delay rental being paid, other provisions) the lessor (you I guess as heir or assignee of original lessor) can file an Affidavit of Non Production stating that for as many years as you know of, there has not been any production or payment on the property. That would let potential lessees know that your property is available.

Maybe someone with knowledge of Ohio law can add something here.

If you live on the property, or nearby, you can go to the county court house and see what you can find about the documents (deeds and leases).

If you sign with an O&G company, they will check that all out.  If no good, they

will let you know.  Easiest way.
