As I read the posts about leasing in the wet gas aera of ohio, and in ashtabula co, a couple questions come to mind. I have studied the maps from the ODONR and others. Ashtabula to the north and Meigs to the south. why would Ashtabula be more atractive than Meigs. seems Meigs has had no intrest even though a large portion is in the wet gas aera. I have read posts on this site that seems to be very knolegeable. can anyone put this in prospective. Thanks in advance.

Two differences are the total organic carbon & S1 values for each. Ashtabula is shown to be good - very good, while Meigs is show to be fair - good. It is still early in the exploration, these values can change. Some of the early maps even left Meigs right off the analysis, so there is always the chance that Meigs will be cast in a more favorable light. I hope so for all Meigs landowners.
