Current State of Magnum Hunter

Starting this thread to post info related to Magnum Hunter and its various business components.  First post is Triad Hunter opening office in Marietta, Ohio.  Definately Magnum Hunter is spending in Monroe, Noble and Washington counties in Ohio as well as Tyler and other WV counties.

Searcherone - I'm not sure what Evans May have been alluding to, but I would think the Haynes we'll will tell us everything we need to know about the riverfront townships.
I don't think anything has happened in Jackson yet since they have vertical test wells in
Grandview twp. That show excellent Marcellus thickness with Utica. So
To me the question is how far west of the riverfront townships the Marcellus is viable in both counties.

Triad Hunter buys Ormet mineral rights for 22 million.    Does anyone know the total acreage owned by Ormet and I am assuming the sale includes both the property in Monroe Co. Ohio and that in WV.

MH says their proven reserves are up on 10% in past six months.

I guess my statement that Magnum was more interested in "delineating potential" than developing resources and production on June 5th wasn't that far off. I still say we won't see significant development of their leaseholds until Magnum sells. Just compare Magnum's activity to Anterro, Gulfport, etc. who appear to be focused on production.

These guys are building an oil and gas company that makes itself too attractive to pass up as a takeover target.  Recent pullback of the stock makes a takeover bid seem plausible before year's end.  But that's just a guess.

While GreenHunter is apparently going on its own, this is still Gary Evans' connection.    Green Hunter wants to form an MLP for its disposal services in the O/G field.   Here is link.

At last an article that clarifies what MH actually bought when they acquired the Ormet mineral rights.  I was never certain how many acres it was and if they bought what Ormet owned in Wetzel Co, WV  It is 1700 acres and yes MH bought both the Monroe Co OH and Wetzel Co WV mineral acreage.  This article hints that the Stewart Winland  well is good, but no details.

Folks, here is a 107 page investor presentation given today by Magnum Hunter.   Some very interesting slides in this one; 

p. 56  2015-2016 Update:  Washington & Noble Cos.  this slide shows proposed wells

p. 61 Midstream Projects Proposed Interstate:  chart of various pipeline projects, receipt pts. length, capacity, projected finish dates;   good info for all areas of play

p.62   Condensate Markets:  shows a Eureka Liquid Facility, exact location hard to determine, but on Ohio River Border--either Monroe Co OH  or Tyler  Co WV ;   what does anyone think on this one?   

also shows the two Ergon  barge terminals on the Ohio River.  Ergon being a private company we don't hear much from them, but the trucks are on the highway all the time.

p. 63  Ethane Projects:  lists some basic facts about crackers over the region;  says 2019 is the first projected to be in operation.

Also included are a number of slides on the Australian venture.

I heard bits and pieces of the broadcast;  Evans saying an announcement regarding Eureka Hunter before the end of August;

And to poster Puzzled:  Jim Denny saying "Wayne National Forest property complicates things"

And to poster Ron Eiselstein:  Eureka Hunter is building toward Mon Co. WV.

Discussion/comments please as there is a lot to see and digest in this presentation.

And if anyone wants to post these slides mentioned I would be grateful;  I still have not mastered that skill as I guess I am a searcher, not a techie.   lol

I did not see th ecomment regarding th enational forest.

I did read some about what it takes to drill there.

From what I could discern an interested party submits an official notice of interest in a particular tract and then it gets reviewed by the govt.

The comment was made on Magnum's audio presentation and it was a poor connection, but I could hear that.    Maybe the audio or a transcript  will be available in a few days.

 Yes, it is my understanding that they submit to the Bureau of Land Management  to get the rights to drill.    I am not certain, but think pipeline is not wanted on forrest land.    Think about the section of Monroe County that is not being drilled in,  several of those townships in the southwest corner have lots of  Wayne National Forrest property.   

Also was told that Wayne does own property where they don't own mineral rights--it is not consistent on all their acreage.

So Magnum Hunter is moving its offices from Houston to Dallas.  But check the very last paragraph, Evans says Eureka Hunter stays in Houston and will soon become its own limited partnership.
