A New Effort on GMS: A Mineral Sales Survey

Have you sold any portion of your mineral interest? 

There are many people trying to determine if they are being offered a fair price. Maybe you were there once yourself?

If you have sold any mineral interest, take a moment and anonymously share your purchase price information and rate the buyer of your minerals. Those who share and participate will then receive the first view of the data we collect.

You can help others like you in the community as they make important mineral sale decisions.

Was offered 1,080,201 for 133 acres in North Township  with a 12.5% royalty.

Turned it down being I had a 17.5 % lease and I simply don't know whrere I would put the money where I thought I would get a better return

Thanks for the info Pat. My neighbor got 15,000 per acre for a small parcel with 20% royalty albeit this was in 2014 when oil was high. I have been offcially offered $8000 per acre without talking or negotiating with anyone. I seem to be getting a lot more letters in the mail with lower offers then in the past. These outfits want to cash in becasue of the downturn. My thought is why would these companies still be offering big money if there was a big chance that we would not get drilled? I am sure these companies have deep ties to the industry and know what is going on and are betting we will all be drilled although maybe a little later then some thought. I am going to roll the dice and wait to cash in on the big money (drilled/royalties). I would love to see the results of this survey, I am going to have my buddy take it so I can see the results.

This is great info guys and thanks for sharing, maybe we'll start one for Gas Leasing too. This survey is trying to get at Mineral Rights sales, when someone decides to divest from their interest fully or partially.

Keith, This is a great idea. I'm stuck in the middle trying to decide what to do. I hope the people who share their information will also mention if their contracts were for mineral rights, just gas and oil rights and /or if any sales were for strata specific shale only or if it included all shale strata's known or unknown at the present time. Also, a big THANK YOU goes out to all the people who are willing to share this information with the rest of us- knowledge is power and the sharing and talking about individual experiences will help those of us that know so little. I will share any and all information I have if it can be beneficial to anyone. God bless and good luck to everyone.
