Permalink Reply by searcherone on February 12, 2016 at 1:03pm I learned a lot at the NARO meeting I attended in Sardis, Ohio in January. Enough that I joined. This meeting appears that there will be a discussion of taxes with the auditors of both Belmont and Monroe on the agenda. I just registered for this one after making this post.
And here is a hot link to the registration.
Permalink Reply by Becky on February 16, 2016 at 11:26am William Knox and Bob Hart will share valuable information. I have heard both of them speak before. If you are a mineral/land owner it is well worth your time to attend. This seminar is free. Lunch is being provided.

Permalink Reply by jerry lee nichols on February 17, 2016 at 5:02am I was at the one in Sardis for about an hour, I thought it sucked but then I am not a Republican. One fella asked a good question about mineral theft by MDWA but he was blown off, Johnson gave some spiel about helping drillers to Public assets that they don't have rigs to drill in the Wayne, but other than that he didn't seem to know shit. Some guy from Okalahoma and some farm bureau sort sounded off and I left. wouldn't go again.
Permalink Reply by Becky on February 18, 2016 at 3:43am I believe that the tax information and auditor discussion will be quite timely and beneficial.
Permalink Reply by Becky on February 19, 2016 at 4:47am I just heard that attorney Aaron Bruggeman from Bricker & Eckler will be a speaker. He will be giving an overview of the Supreme Court decision in the Beck Energy case.
Permalink Reply by searcherone on February 22, 2016 at 4:53pm Yes, this meeting is in Belmont County Ohio but people from any location are welcome to attend. NARO can provide royalty owners with information. The discussion on taxes should be beneficial as some Ohio counties are considering taxing, yes taxing, property that has an oil and gas lease on it. I don't know all the details and I don't know if it is if one has a mineral deed separate from their property deed. I hope to have a number of questions answered on Saturday about this tax.
There is still time to register for the meeting.
Permalink Reply by Becky on February 25, 2016 at 4:39pm I'm looking forward to this. I can't believe the number of people I have spoken with recently that have been hit with unaccounted for royalty deductions and increased property taxes.
Permalink Reply by searcherone on February 26, 2016 at 2:09am You are in the oil and gas business model now if you are receiving royalties or have a lease. Take a chance and register for this meeting. Meet some other royalty/lease owners, hear new information and yes, there will be a number of elected officials present and absolutely if lease holders are ever going to improve their lot in the oil and gas business we will need the assistance and support of our elected officials.
lol and last of all there will be free food!! Hope many of you will register to be in Barnesville on Saturday.
Permalink Reply by Becky on February 26, 2016 at 3:51am Good thing the Barnesville HS Auditorium can seat a lot of people, over 200 people have registered so far. Come early to get a good seat, grab a cup of coffee, and check out the exhibitors. If you haven't already registered, please do. It will make the sign in process quicker and help us get a more accurate food count for lunch. See you all there.

AboutWhat makes this site so great? Well, I think it's the fact that, quite frankly, we all have a lot at stake in this thing they call shale. But beyond that, this site is made up of individuals who have worked hard for that little yard we call home. Or, that farm on which blood, sweat and tears have fallen. [ Read More ] |
